The paramotor pilot started their paramotor on the ground with the unit not secured on their back. The pilot was holding the paramotor unit with their left hand while attempting to start the engine. During the starting procedure, the pilot was struck by the spinning propeller, resulting in laceration injuries to their right arm and chest.
