A 24-year-old pilot from Galva was paragliding in the area of 23rd Avenue and Overland Road northeast of Galva around 1:45 p.m., when he crashed into a field for unknown reasons. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. He was wearing a helmet and safety goggles at the time of the crash. According to social media comments, the pilot was flying a small advanced glider.
