A 49-year-old paramotor pilot was flying near Ilha Porchat in São Vicente, São Paulo when his wing collapsed during flight. According to the pilot's account to rescuers, the paraglider wing folded during the trajectory, causing loss of control of the paramotor and resulting in a fall into the sea. The incident occurred around 2:30 PM. The pilot was rescued by the Maritime Fire Brigade (GBMar) using an aquatic rescue boat with support from a jet ski. There was no drowning. The pilot was evaluated at the scene and released without needing to be taken to a health facility.

According to the pilot's report, the incident was caused by equipment failure - specifically the paraglider wing collapsed/folded during flight, causing loss of control.

Um piloto de 49 anos precisou ser resgatado após o paramotor que conduzia cair no mar próximo à Ilha Porchat, em São Vicente, no litoral de São Paulo, na tarde desta segunda-feira (26). De acordo com o Grupamento de Bombeiros Marítimos (GBMar), a queda ocorreu por volta das 14h30. A vítima foi socorrida por uma guarnição do bote de salvamento aquático, com apoio de uma moto aquática. Segundo os bombeiros, não houve afogamento. O piloto foi avaliado ainda no local e, após atendimento, liberado, sem necessidade de encaminhamento para unidade de saúde. Conforme relato do próprio homem aos socorristas, o acidente teria sido provocado por uma falha no equipamento de voo. Ele informou que a asa do parapente dobrou durante o trajeto, o que teria causado a perda de controle do paramotor e a queda no mar.
