Spiral maneuver collision with beach - spinal fracture

Pilot performing tight 360-degree spirals at low altitude near beach crashed into hard-packed sand, likely due to turbulence or own wake turbulence. Resulted in broken lower back with vertebrae fusion.

Water landing after being caught by thunderstorm with multiple collapses

🇺🇸United States

Pilot continued flying south as large thunderstorm approached from inland. Caught by violent turbulent winds while trying to return, experienced multiple 50%+ collapses, lost altitude and plunged into water at 50-80 feet still strapped in. Wing dragged him backwards through water. Managed to unbuckle underwater and was rescued by surfer.

Parachutal stall/spin during takeoff, rapid ground impact from 10m

Pilot performed forward launch with Paramania Action 29. After becoming airborne at ~10m altitude, noticed poor climb rate and slight left drift, applied slight right brake correction. Suddenly experienced rapid height loss despite full power. Wing rotated 90 degrees then additional 180 degrees before full-throttle impact with ground. Pilot survived with injuries, paramotor destroyed.

Helper's fingers severed by propeller during launch assistance

🇺🇸United States

During launch assistance, the pilot's husband got his fingers caught in the spinning propeller while helping inflate the wing. Three fingers (pinky, ring, middle) on left hand were nearly completely severed. Pilot flew off unaware while friends provided aid. Victim taken to hospital for surgery to reattach fingers.

Low altitude spin/stall after aggressive turn maneuver

Pilot entered unintentional spin and stall at approximately 50 feet altitude after applying heavy brake input following an upward exit from a right turn. Wing was low on energy when brake was applied. Pilot descended in stalled configuration and impacted ground with frame/cage absorbing impact.
